Shawn And Rachel Johnson strive every day to live their lives according to one phrase: “To know God and make Him known.” Shawn, with his wife Rachel, are the Senior Pastors of the Spirit of Prophecy Church in Topeka, Kansas. The church derives its name from Revelation 19:10 “and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” The church desires to be called the testimony of Jesus.

Shawn knew from an early age that he wanted to be in the ministry. While others wanted to be doctors, lawyers, and firemen, Shawn dreamed of helping people through the ministry of Jesus Christ. As a young teenager he joined his church’s drama team and eventually ended up leading others in the drama ministry. During this time, he was the music department manager at Bible Supply and Gift Co. for 3 years. In 1998 God called Shawn to Phoenix Master’s Commission under the headship of Tommy Barnett and Phoenix First Assembly. Shawn graduated Master’s Commission and came back to Topeka to help his father start a church here locally. He began as a Co-Youth Pastor, eventually became Associate Pastor, and as of fall 2005 the Senior Pastor. He has a passionate desire to preach the message of unconditional love and unending hope to this generation.

Rachel is equally as passionate to share the love of Jesus to her generation. She is an all-american sweetheart raised in the small town of Burlingame, Kansas. Whether it be being the typecasted angel in the drama team or the Vacation Bible School director, Rachel is passionate and very active with whatever God blesses her to be involved with. She ran the "Early Seeker's" children's ministry for 4 years before becoming Associate Pastor and then Senior Pastor alongside her husband. Rachel was also heavily involved in the Youth ministry as Co-Youth pastor, specifically teaming up with Samantha Wilson ministering to young women.

There is a strong passion in both Shawn and Rachel to minister to married couples. They believe that for too long the church has not known the true amount of intimacy that is available to a husband and wife. Sadly, the statistics tell us that married couples in the Christian church are just as likely to get a divorce as the rest of the world. Shawn and Rachel have determined together to change this statistic by showing the freedom and romance that is specifically reserved for married couples under Jesus Christ.
